Property Info
Little Diamond Island in Lake Cobbossee is a unique lake front vacation rental. The island is 1/4 acre in size. Rustic 3 room cabin with lake views from every window. The lake is just steps away in any direction. Sandy bottom swimming areas and the lake is great for boating, canoeing, kayaking or jet skiing.Island vacationing is not for everyone. If you love camping ( not the same as RVing) you will love this. It is a lot like camping except you have a real bed to sleep in. Rustic in nature there is no electricity or running water. We do provide a composting toilet, propane stove and refrigerator. The cabin has one bedroom with queen size bed. and a day bed in kitchen area.Maximum occupants is 3. We supply blankets, comforters and pillows. We do not supply sheets or towels.This is a peaceful spot for anyone who loves nature. Except for the occassional boat the only sounds you hear are the young osprey begging for food in the nest above the cottage and the mournful cry of the loons as they float past the island. You can see nesting osprey, pileated woodpeckers, loons, heron, turtles and occassionally bald eagles and otter.Sorry but we can not allow pets, smoking or campfires.
Living Room
The living room of the cabin is the front room with two huge sliding glass doors that overlook the lake. There is a sofa and small table and chairs if you want to eat your meals there or play a game of cards in the evening. The room has vaulted ceilings and the sliders open in two directions to a small deck.
Kitchen
The kitchen has a propane stove, and a propane refrigerator. It is stocked with dishes, flatware, pots and pans and stovetop coffeemaker. It has a table and chairs and in one corner of this fairly large room is a day bed that sleeps one. This room is the original camp built during the 40's, windows have antique wavy glass.
Master Bedroom
The bedroom has a queen size bed. Sliding glass doors provide an entrance leading to the outbuilding that has the composting toilet. A small deck off this room is where we hang our solar shower bag. This room has a vaulted ceiling and half round window that allows the moon to shine in during the night. Windows in every direction show lake views and allows the cool breezes to pass through the room. We supply blankets, comforters, and pillows. You need to bring your own sheets and towels.
Outdoor Living Areas
The cabin has front and back decks with lake views. A perfect spot to have your early morning coffee or to sit in the sun.
Parking
We have a parking spot on the mainland and a dock. We provide a canoe for your use.
